Don't Forget to File Your Homestead Exemption - Deadline is April 30th! Zars and Rogers

Have you filed your Homestead Exemption yet? It’s not too late!

Are you interested in paying lower property taxes?

Do you own your home and occupy the residence?

If yes, you qualify for a Homestead Exemption. You must own and occupy the property on January 1st of any given year. If you’ve purchased a home in the current year, you will be eligible for the following year.

You can receive $15,000 in exemptions on your property value from your school district.

But, you must file your exemption before the April 30th Deadline!!

To apply for the exemptions, simply complete and submit the appropriate application (see below).

There is NO CHARGE OR FEE to file your exemption… It is FREE!

Residential Homestead Application

*Note: All exemptions on the Homestead application require a Texas drivers license or Texas identification.  All mailing addresses must be the same as the property requesting the exemption.

Proof of legal ownership is required if the Appraisal District has not updated ownership:
A recorded warranty deed or a recorded contract of sale (no deed of trust or release of lien)
