The word on the street is that our real estate market has kicked of the new year very strong & busier than usual for this time of the year.

Well… The San Antonio Board of REALTORS® has just released the Housing Market Stats for January confirming this in a Big Way!

San Antonio Housing Market Statistics - January 2013“The San Antonio housing market continues to rise, opening the year with a total of 1,249 homes sold in January which is a staggering 24 percent increase from the number of homes sold in January 2012, according to the January 2013 Multiple Listing Service report by the San Antonio Board of REALTORS® (SABOR).”

We knew things felt busier…but a 24% increase in sales year over year…WOW!

We also finished out the month with 1430 pending home sales & only 5.1 months of inventory!

The average sales price for January was $183,846 and the median price was $149,900.  These numbers are up 4% & 3%, respectively.

There seems to be a lot of pent up demand & buyers are itching to get out & take advantage of the low interest rates.

This year is off to an incredible start!

If this is a pre-curser to what the year has in store for us, we should get ready for a very busy & exciting year!

San Antonio also keeps making National Headlines & was recently ranked #9 on the Forbes list of the Fasted Growing Cities, #11 for Job Growth & #13 for Best Places for Business & Careers!
