This weekend, nearly the entire country will Spring Forward by setting their clocks ahead by 1 hour. That’s right… Daylight Saving Time begins at 2:00 AM on Sunday, March 12th! This means we will have an extra hour of sunlight each day, starting on the 12th & continuing until we set our clocks bak again in the fall (November 5th)…
Guess what else is getting ready to spring forward… The Housing Market! Traditionally, we see buyer demand follow seasonal patterns, with somewhat lower levels over the winter months. However, we have not seen much slow down over the past several of months in the San Antonio area. This is likely due to interest rates remaining at historical lows & low inventory of homes on the market…
Even with less of a slow down, we are still expecting to see an additional increase in buyer demand & an increase in homes hitting the market. in fact, The National Association of Realtors (NAR) recently reported that the top 10 dates sellers listed their homes in 2016 all fell in April, May or June.
What does that mean for you?
Well… If you are looking to sell, you can definitely benefit from getting your home on the market sooner than later. “Waiting until Spring,” like so many think they are supposed to do will only lead to you having to compete against all of the other homes that will be flooding the market over those months.
